What to Pack

Temperatures in the Bob Marshall are as unpredictable as its landscape.

Generally, summer temperatures can range between a pleasant 85 degrees during the day to a crisp and cool 30 degrees at night, so think about layering your clothing. To make your trip as comfortable as possible, remember that it is mountain weather...so pack like it.

You will need to provide your own sleeping bag – preferably a three-season sleeping bag that is rated for a minimum of 20 degrees.

To maximize your comfort level, your packing list should contain clothing essentials such as specialized footwear for riding and hiking; warm clothing for the cooler evenings; rain gear for the unexpected mountain shower or storm; and lightweight clothing in breathable fabrics for those mini heat waves and sun-drenched days.

PERSONAL EFFECTS SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • Personal hygiene essentials
  • Sun glasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent for your off-the-beaten-path excursions
